Challenge
The client required a seamless migration of the Cybershift system from its existing cloud implementation to on-premise DOE servers, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and strict compliance with project management requirements. This included optimizing server, storage, and backup environments for security and performance during and after migration. Additionally, the solution needed to ensure high availability and reliability of web, data, and service servers, including integration with digital time clocks and associated software. The project also involved addressing complex architecture needs, such as load balancing, server clustering, data replication, and configuration management, to deliver a robust and scalable infrastructure.
Areas of Assistance
- Design, implementation, operation, and security of the on-premise server environments, including storage, backup, hyper-converged hardware, and VMware SDDC software hosting the Cybershift system.
- Monitoring and troubleshooting web, data, and service servers, ensuring optimal performance and connectivity with digital time clocks and associated software.
- Designing and implementing robust storage and backup architectures, incorporating load balancing, server clustering, data replication, and configuration management to enhance system reliability.
- Developing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing all new and existing storage, hyper-converged, and server hardware and VMware SDDC software environments.
Key Activities
- Conducted the planning and design of the on-premise infrastructure to ensure it met the requirements for hosting the Cybershift system.
- Implemented and configured server, storage, and backup solutions, ensuring all components were securely integrated and optimized for performance.
- Managed the migration process, including testing, monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure a smooth transition from the cloud to on-premise servers.
- Developed automation scripts to streamline infrastructure deployment and configuration, enhancing efficiency and reducing potential errors.
- Provided ongoing support and maintenance, ensuring the stability and security of the on-premise environment post-migration.
Outcomes
- Successfully migrated the Cybershift system from the cloud to on-premise DOE servers, meeting all client requirements and project management standards.
- Ensured the continued availability and optimal performance of the Cybershift system, including all associated servers, storage, and digital time clock connections.
- Enhanced the reliability and security of the Cybershift system through robust architecture design and implementation, including automated infrastructure management.
- Provided the client with a fully operational, secure, and optimized on-premise environment, meeting both current needs and future scalability requirements.
